How to fix audio lag on videos
There can be multiple reasons why the audio is lagging when you film a video.
Here you have an overview of some of the reasons you can investigate:
- Did you recently create or edit a video and notice a brief moment where the video appears to update itself? Don't worry, this is completely normal and not a result of any system errors. This simply indicates that the video has completed processing and is transitioning from being played on our frontend to being streamed from our servers. This occurs shortly after you've finished creating or editing your video on the edit page. Read more about this in the help page here.
- You have not restarted your device lately.
- You do not have the latest system updates for your computer or browser
- You are running too many programs simultaneously or have too many tabs open in the browser.
- This is influencing your computer's performance, which sometimes can result in inconsistent recordings.
- Check your computer's Activity Monitor (MacOS) or Task Manager (Windows). Check if there are any programs that are running in the background and are using unnecessary CPU performance.
- Check your computer's memory (memory usage in the Activity Monitor (MacOS) or Task Manager (Windows)), if the computer is running low on RAM, it can influence the transcoding of MailVideo recordings.
- Check you have the latest drivers for external microphones/cameras.
- Check that your upload speed is at least 5 mbps to ensure smooth recordings. You can check it here: https://www.speedtest.net/
- Record while your computer is plugged into a power source.
